The service was established to support the health & social needs of whanau living within the Kaikoura community, its founder member Miriama Kahu had a strong vision & the service still works to achieve that vision today. The service has evolved over the years to incorporate more services & programmes to suit the needs of our unique community at the particular time. Te Tai O Marokura strives to provide the very best services for all whanau/families, individuals living within the tribal boundaries of Ngati Kuri. Tamariki Ora, Well Child services. RN Whanau Ora, Maori Disability nursing services. RN Social worker, DR response, client caseload work & crisis intervention, whanau support. Alcohol & Drug clinical assessments & counseling support. Rangatahi focused Alcohol & Drug support services, however due to being the only service of this type within our rohe adults may be serviced as well. Budget Advisor, one on 1 intensive support for whanau & individuals with their personal finances, advocacy for clients & group as well as individual education sessions regarding budget advice. Health Promotion within the Kaikoura community, on core issues such as cervical screening, breast screening, smoke cessation, SID’s, CVD, obesity & other topical issues that are released at a national level. This is alongside ongoing promotion of the services available to our whanau & preventative health issues. Strengthening Families Lead agent Services, this is a service that Te Tai O Marokura fills for the Kaikoura community, we are the sole provider of this contract in Kaikoura & provide lead agent services for almost all of the whanau that access this process within our area. |
